**More Bang For the Buck
- Fuji Fine Pix 1400 Zoom Digital Camera**

The new FinePix 1400 Zoom comes in a compact, sleek package
with a traditional point & shoot camera styling. With true
3x optical zoom lens (with autofocus), and excellent 1.3
megapixel image quality, the FinePix 1400 has all the
necessary features like exposure control, advanced playback
and a 1.6 inch LCD screen to make this an excellent companion
for just about any destination. Ideal for the consumer who
wants to take great pictures without worrying about a lot
of exposure settings or spending too much money.

The user interface of this camera is pretty self-explanatory
and uncomplicated. Except for the flash and camera mode,
the majority of the camera settings are controlled through
the easily navigable LCD menu. The simple design is a plus,
as you don't have to spend too much time learning how to use it.

SmartMedia cards are used to store images and a 4 MB card is
included with this camera. It connects via a USB cable to a
PC or Mac and comes with a nice complement of software on
one CD. The Exif Viewer, DP Editor and Adobe PhotoDeluxe
programs lets you view, organise, print, make minor
correction and apply filters for more interesting results.
There is also a range of templates to help you get creative
by making calendars and cards.

Overall, a smart little camera for anyone not wanting to
spend too much money for a camera that can take great

**Canon EOS D30 - shoot like the Pros**

Finally a digital camera that's aimed at the high-end
amateur market with all the features of a professional SLR.
The Canon EOS D30 looks, feels and operates like a film
camera. The D30 is the first prosumer camera to employ a
large-area CMOS imager and is the first all-Canon SLR.
Weighing in at 1.6 lb, it's also the lightest and most
compact digital SLR.

The D30 uses a newly developed 3.25 megapixel CMOS sensor
captures accurate 36-bit color 2,160 x 1,440-pixel images
and stores them in standard JPEG or in Canon's RAW format.

Great news for all you photographers out there who own a
Canon EOS SLR. Your EF lenses and EOS accessories are
interchangeable between film and digital bodies. On the
back of the D30 is a 1.8-inch TFT color LCD screen for
image review and menu operations. The colour and resolution
of the screen is very good and visible in all but
"high noon" conditions.

Storage is on CompactFlash Type I and II cards or on IBM
Microdrives. And better news still - D30 supports USB and
is compatible with a Mac or PC.
