E-Book Systems and Intermedia Organizer to Showcase New Technologies in Intel Booth at CES

Digital Flip and iO Optimized For the Intel Pentium4 Processor

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 8, 2002--E-Book Systems, Inc., the makers of the award-winning Digital Flip(TM) technology, announces they will demonstrate their new MultiFlip(TM) technology in the Intel booth (No. 331) at the 2002 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Intermedia Organizer, Inc., a partner of E-Book Systems, will also show its new iO(TM) v. 2.2 release and its compelling integration with E-Book Systems in the Intel booth at CES.

For the first time, E-Book Systems will be demonstrating its FlipAlbum® 4.5 Beta, which incorporates the new MultiFlip(TM) feature. MultiFlip(TM) allows users to flip multiple pages simultaneously without losing the ability to view images and text as they flip. It mimics the way humans scan books for specific information in every day life. The new product will offer superior graphics handling, enhance the way we search information and make book browsing more intuitive and natural. MultiFlip(TM) is optimised to take advantage of the Intel Pentium(a) 4 processor's advanced capabilities.

``We refer to this new way of searching as an `unstructured search.' A search engine is good when you know EXACTLY what you want. But many times people search for things that are unknown. MultiFlip(TM) allows users to browse candidly in a visual way,'' says Dr. Ho, President of E-Book Systems.

E-Book Systems became a participant in the Intel ISV program last year. This allowed E-Book to improve its popular FlipAlbum® 3D page-flipping software product line by taking full advantage of the Pentium processor's advanced capabilities.

Intermedia Organizer, Inc., a partner of E-Book Systems, will also exhibit its technology at the Intel booth. The award-winning FlipAlbum® product and Intermedia Organizer's iO(TM) have been integrated to enable users to output media managed with iO(TM) effortlessly to the FlipViewer(TM) format. In addition, iO(TM) has incorporated its Super-Zoom(TM) feature that allows viewers to rapidly magnify portions of an image to any level of resolution supported by the original image file. Together, these integrated products bring an unprecedented combination of image quality and ease-of-use for delivery of high quality media, such as catalogues and professional portfolios, over the Internet.

``iO(TM) is all about enabling ordinary users to turn their PC into a media and communications center for business or personal expression,'' commented Geoff Halstead, the President and CEO of Intermedia Organizer, Inc. ``Our joint product offering with E-book Systems is an important step in delivering on this vision for our customers and end users. As of today, the producers of high-quality digital media - whether for professional or personal uses - no longer have to compromise between quality and download speed when publishing over the Web. They and their target viewers can have the best of both worlds.''
